John Dowgin Nominated for Five Perry Awards

Porch Room co-founder John Dowgin has been nominated for FIVE Perry Awards, given out by NJACT.  The Porch Room previously was awarded the Perry Award for Outstanding Original Play in 2009 for Accidents Happen.John's nominations are in a wide variety of categories.  He snagged two for Outstanding Sound Design (for Hamlet and The 39 Steps), Outstanding Direction of a Play (The 39 Steps), Outstanding Production of a Play (The 39 Steps) and Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Play (The Normal Heart).John is currently directing The Porch Room's Antony & Cleopatra: Infinite Lives at the New York Fringe Festival.  Other Infinite Lives cast and crew were also nominated in this round of Perry Awards.  Lighting designers Ed Pearson & Elyse Halloran were nominated for their lighting designs on The 39 Steps (Ed and Elyse) and A Behanding in Spokane (Elyse).  Our stage manager, Jessica Murray, was nominated for her costume designs for Greater Tuna.  Thom Boyer, who plays "Dr. Elmegreen" in our upcoming production, has been nominated as Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Play for his appearance in The 39 Steps.Congratulations to all the nominees!  Come see their latest work when Antony & Cleopatra: Infinite Lives opens on August 10th.  BUY TICKETS TODAY.
